Engineers from the Emirates Institution for Advanced Science & Technology (EIAST) announced that the DubaiSat-2 project has completed a crucial stage in the design phase, with the qualification model (QM) passing a series of rigorous tests.

Engineers at the Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology (EIAST) have generated the first mosaic image of the entire UAE putting together images relayed from the outer space by DubaiSat-1, the UAE-owned and operated earth observation satellite.

DubaiSat-1, the UAE-owned and operated earth observation satellite, has relayed images of the Holy Cities of Mecca, Medina and Al Quds from the outer space. The pan-sharpened, multi-spectral images show the Grand Mosque in Mecca, the Prophet's Mosque in Medina and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Al Quds.

The first mosaic image of the whole UAE by a UAE satellite. It was prepared by EIAST’s team for the 40th anniversary of the UAE. It took nearly three months to task the satellite to image the whole UAE.
